Paraphrasis

.

Across the Rubicon

At the other side of the hill

I saw a homeland, in a shape of a cell

Clad in a general’s uniform, full of stars

But there were no stars in the sky

We stayed up there, watching

Eyes and mouths wide open

Full of disgust

Your murderers are still chasing you

How many times you‘re supposed to be killed

So they can be at ease

May god forgive you, body and soul

For not satisfying their bloodthirsty jaws

No rivers around

Only army bases

Flags

Ranks, tanks, and guns

Bodies, bodies, bodies, almost everywhere

Long rows of people, forlorn

Derelict and sad

Waiting for a goodbye kiss

And a bullet for their leaving kids

Sabres on the green grass

Words full of spite

Melted hot metal and fire

For rain
